bereft.rig

This one was pretty fun and interesting to put together. It stemmed from a workshop I recently took hosted on futurly (https://www.futurly.com/generativedesign) and taught by Mümin Kesser (@mmnskr on Instagram) so for anyone interested in more architectural explorations using Houdini I strongly recommend both courses offered there.

As I was playing around with the introduced algorithms, the whole structure reminded me of an organic oil rig or something along those lines, so I decided to further conceptualize and develop it on those terms.

It was a multi-tiered process with two main components which were generated in a similar way. The base and network below is one object, while the top organic spire is a separate one. Both were derived from a particle simulation which was additionally processed to create the detailed parts.
