Performance art has been considered frivolous, pointless, derivative, exhibitionistic, narcissistic, tasteless and largely redundant with the last respected movement being considered Dadaism which arose after the First World War. But is that truly the case, or are such criticisms remnants of a set of puritanical values? We decided to explore the issue by looking at 5 bizarre performance art pieces that we've found lately (some of these have gone viral) to see what may be there.
