Today I wanted to experiment with charcoal. Then I realised that I bought BAD charcoal, so I took up the pencils again and attempted to apply everything I knew so far on a portrait and a random sketch. Mixing shapes, gesture, structure and everything else.
All in all it was a fairly simple day. To be fair the portrait did not start life as a female but as I progressed (anatomy will help me a lot in this department) he looked more like a she so, yes.
I never thought that a nose could be so frustrating...
The second sheet was hermetically empty and taunting me with nasty words. It might as well have been black instead of white. So I drew a bad dragon on it. That sure showed that paper who's boss!
"Roar"? More like "meow".
Having scratched my head for a while over the lady's lips and nose, I came to the conclusion that it is in fact time to look into anatomy.
